A suspected Pakistani drone incursion was reported along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, after drones were sighted near Keso Mahansan village in the Ramgarh sector. Authorities have placed the area on high alert and initiated countermeasures.

In a separate incident, a drone-like object was spotted hovering over Degwar village in Poonch for about 10 minutes around 7:30 pm. The Indian Army fired a few rounds to neutralise it. Security forces remain on high alert as further details are awaited. This is the third instance of cross-border drone sightings in the Valley in recent days.

On Tuesday, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said India has put Pakistan “on notice” over recent unmanned aerial vehicle activity along the Line of Control. He said New Delhi has conveyed to Islamabad that such actions are “not acceptable,” even as Operation Sindoor continues to address security challenges on the western front.

Speaking at his annual press conference, General Dwivedi said Director General of Military Operations-level talks were held with Pakistan, during which India raised concerns over the latest drone sightings in Jammu and Kashmir. “We have told Pakistan to rein in its drones,” he said, adding that the Army remains fully alert and prepared to respond to any future misadventure.

The Army chief also said the drones appeared to be small, defensive platforms, possibly deployed to monitor Indian activity across the border.

Hours after his remarks, multiple Pakistani drones were spotted near the Dungala–Nabla area of the Rajouri sector and were fired upon by Indian Army personnel in line with standard operating procedures.
