Sunny Deol’s Border 2 charges ahead as advance bookings surge in India and overseas
Sunny Deol’s return to the battlefield with Border 2 appears to be off to a flying start. The much-anticipated war drama opened advance bookings overseas on Sunday evening and in India on Monday, and early trends suggest strong momentum, with online sales crossing over 2,000 tickets per hour and outperforming several recent big releases in international markets.
Border 2 overseas advance booking updates
Advance bookings for Border 2 began in the United States, Australia, Germany, and select theatres in Canada on Sunday. Indian theatres followed after midnight. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the film’s advance sales in Australia are moving faster than those of recent releases like Dhurandhar and War 2. Trade sources say similar traction is being seen in the US and Germany. In Canada, bookings are yet to open at Cineplex, the country’s largest cinema chain, so a clearer picture is expected once ticket windows go live there. More international territories are set to open bookings in the coming days.
Border 2 domestic advance booking updates
In India, advance booking has been open for only a few hours but is already gathering pace. As of Monday noon, Border 2 was selling around 2,000 tickets per hour on BookMyShow. With four days still to go before release and more screens expected to be added nationwide, the pace of sales is likely to accelerate further. If early trends hold, the film is poised for a massive opening both domestically and overseas.
