Spiritual Leader Calls for PM Modi’s Nobel Peace Prize Nomination, Cites ‘Third World War Averted’
A spiritual leader has reportedly proposed nominating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Nobel Peace Prize, crediting his “decisive leadership” during Operation Sindoor against Pakistan with averting what he described as a potential “third world war”.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Adhipen Nandhiji Bose said the Prime Minister’s actions deserved global recognition. “When we look at the leadership of India, we see the exemplary work done by PM Modi, which needs to be recognised from the perspective of consciousness, which is the bedrock of peace,” Bose was quoted as saying by ANI.
While there is no open or public nomination process for the Nobel Peace Prize, Bose’s statement comes amid recent global instances where political leaders have been publicly proposed for the award. Earlier this year, several members of the US administration, including President Donald Trump, had publicly claimed to have “nominated” him for the Nobel Peace Prize. That campaign drew international attention but did not result in the award.
The Nobel Peace Prize this year was awarded to María Corina Machado, former deputy of Venezuela’s National Assembly and a leading critic of the Nicolás Maduro government.
Why Modi ‘deserves the Nobel’
Referring to Operation Sindoor, Bose said India exercised military restraint despite having the upper hand. “When we look at Operation Sindoor, just when we had the absolute upper hand, we declared a ceasefire,” he said.
He further claimed that the conflict involved multiple global stakeholders beyond India and Pakistan. “The deeper truth was that Operation Sindoor was not just between India and Pakistan. There was China involved, there were other countries involved, and they all wanted India to go into a prolonged war,” ANI quoted him as saying.
According to Bose, the decision to announce a ceasefire helped prevent escalation. “Modi ji declared a ceasefire to avert not only civilian casualties on both sides, but, most importantly, a third world war,” he said.
Bose has a sizable online following, with nearly six lakh followers on Facebook and around 30,000 on LinkedIn. He recently shared a Facebook post containing a link seeking public support for his demand that Prime Minister Modi be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
There has been no official nomination or endorsement from the Prime Minister or the government.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Bose is the founder of the Declaration of Consciousness Movement (DOCM), described as a California-based non-profit organisation. His profile lists an MBA from Schiller International University, London, a B.Com from Loyola College, Chennai, and schooling at Lawrence School, Lovedale. It also mentions a qualification described as “Mastery of Consciousness”.
The Nobel nomination webpage linked in his post praises Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, stating that he “continues to guide humanity toward higher consciousness” and highlighting achievements such as humanitarian outreach, Operation Sindoor, climate leadership, and poverty alleviation.
