Sensex up 920 pts, Nifty near 24,900; Belrise Industries IPO closes today

Indian stock markets were holding gains today, amid buying in IT stocks. The BSE Sensex index was at 81,422.83, up 515 points or 0.64 per cent, while the Nifty50 quoted at 24,784.7, higher by 173 points.

Eternal (Zomato), ITC, Power Grid, Infosys, HCL Tech, Tech M, Adani Ports, Nestle India, Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Bank, and Ultratech Cement were marching ahead on the Sensex today. On the downside, Sun Pharma fell over 2 per cent.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap indices were in the green. The former rose 0.31 per cent and the latter dropped 0.26 per cent.

Among sectors, the Nifty FMCG, IT index were over 1 per cent higher, the Nifty PSU Bank index was up 0.18 per cent, and the Nifty Auto index 0.23 per cent.

Belrise Industries will enter Day 3, while Borana Weaves IPO (Mainline) will see its allotment.

Q4 Results Today

The Street will react to earnings from Sun Pharma, Ramco Cements, and Grasim Industries, among others. It also awaits results from JSW Steel, Ashok Leyland, Linde India, Balkrishna Industries, GE Vernova TD India, Glenmark Pharma, Narayana Hrudayalaya, AIA Engineering, Timken India, Devyani International, Afcons Infrastructure, BEML, Cello World, Finolex Industries, Azad Engineering, Reliance Infrastructure, and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail among others.
