Sensex up 320pts, Nifty near 25,180; SMIDs in green; auto, metal, financials gain

Indian stock markets extended their winning ways on Tuesday amid buying in heavyweights like Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, L&T, and ITC.

The BSE Sensex index was at 82,092, higher by 302 points or 0.37 per cent. The Nifty50 index, on the other hand, was at 25,172, up 95 points or 0.38 per cent.

Bajaj Finance, Eternal, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, HCL Tech, Power Grid, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, HUL, Adani Ports, and NTPC were the top Sensex gainers, edging higher in the range of 0.5 per cent to 1.6 per cent.

On the downside, Trent, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, TCS, SBI, Kotak Bank, Tech M, HDFC Bank, and Infosys were the top losers, down up to 2.7 per cent.

In the broader markets, Nifty Midcao100, and Smallcap100 indices were trading higher by 0.41 per cent, and 0.45 per cent, respectively.

Among sectors, the Nifty Metal, and IT were the top performing indices, rising 0.4 per cent each. The Nifty PSU Bank, meanwhile, was the top loser, down 0.3 per cent.
IPO today
In the mainboard IPO category, LG Electronics India IPO opened for application; on the other hand, WeWork India Management IPO will close for subscription.

On the SME front, Mittal Sections IPO opened for subscription.
