Sensex slips 100 pts; Coffee Day Ent surges 10%, Dixon Tech 4%, HDFC Life 1.5%
Stock markets were trading lower today amid US tariff related uncertainty, with the BSE Sensex index trading at 82,453, down 118 points or 0.14 per cent, and the Nifty index quoting at 25,153, lower by 42 points or 0.17 per cent.
Shriram Finance, Eternal (Zomato), M&M, JSW Steel, Cipla, Hero Moto, Bajaj Finance, and Bajaj Auto were the top Nifty losers, down up to 3 per cent. On the flipside, Wipro, Trent, Adani Ports, HDFC Life, HDFC Bank, and Adani Enterprises were the top gainers.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index erased gains to quote barely 0.04 per cent higher, while the Nifty SmallCap index turned lower by 0.06 per cent.
Among sectors, the Nifty Auto, and Metal indices slipped 0.85 per cent and 0.51 per cent, respectively, while the Nifty Media, and PSU Bank indices emerged as top gainers, rising up to 1.2 per cent.
Buzzing Stocks
HDFC Life share price rose 1 per cent after the life insurance company’s net profit increased 14 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹546 crore in Q1FY26. Individual Annualized Premium Equivalent (APE) rose 12.5 per cent Y-o-Y.
HDB Financial Services share price, meanwhile, slipped 2 per cent after the recently listed company’s profit after tax fell around 2 per cent on year to ₹568 crore, and revenue dipped 18 per cent Y-o-Y.
Dixon Technologies shares, on the contrary, advanced 3 per cent after the company entered into a binding term sheet with Chongqing Yuhai Precision Manufacturing Co. Ltd. to form a Joint Venture (JV) in India. As per the proposed structure, Dixon Tech will hold 74 per cent share in the JV.
Q1 results today
Tech Mahindra, ITC Hotels, LT Technology Services, Angel One, Kalpataru, LE Travenues Technology (IXIGO), Reliance Industrial Infrastructure, and Tanfac Industries are some of the companies scheduled to announce their Q1 results today.
