Sensex rises 300 pts; Nifty above 25,100; Smallcaps up 1%; MCX, IEX up 4%
Indian stock markets were trading higher on Monday, tracking positive global cues, ahead of the US and China trade talks, which are scheduled to be held in London today. The BSE Sensex index, today, was quoting at 82,588, higher by 299.31 points, while the Nifty50 was at 25,107.9, up 104.85 points or 0.42 per cent.
Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Jio Financial Services, Shriram Finance, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, HCL Tech, and Tech M were the top gainers on the Nifty index today, rising up to 2 per cent.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap indices were at trading 0.95 per cent and 1.15 per cent higher, respectively.
Among sectors, the Nifty PSU Bank, Private Bank, IT indices were up 1 per cent, on the other hand, Nifty Realty was down 0.44 per cent.
In the IPO market, the allotment of Ganga Bath Fittings IPO will be finalised today. Besides, Sacheerome IPO (SME) opened for subscription today. The issue was subscribed over 1.63 times as of 12 PM, according to NSE data.
