Sensex, Nifty Flat; SMIDs Surge; Jindal Saw Jumps 10%, Jana SFB Up 3%
Equity benchmark indices experienced volatility during Tuesday’s trading session as investors closely monitored the progress of US-China trade talks, amidst mixed global signals.
The BSE Sensex was trading at 82,508, up by 63 points or 0.08%. Similarly, the Nifty50 stood at 25,147, gaining 44 points or 0.18%.
In the broader market, the Nifty Midcap100 and Nifty Smallcap100 indices saw positive movement, rising by 0.3% and 0.36%, respectively.
On the sectoral front, the Nifty IT index led the pack with a gain of 1.49%, followed by the Nifty Metal index, which rose by 0.99%. On the downside, the Nifty PSU Bank index recorded a slight dip, falling by 0.21%.
