Sensex jumps 400 pts, Nifty above 24,600: 5 factors behind market recovery amid geopolitical jitters
Indian stock markets rebounded on Thursday, with the BSE Sensex rising more than 400 points and the Nifty 50 climbing above the 24,600 mark, as expectations of a possible de-escalation in the Iran–Israel-US conflict boosted investor sentiment.
The recovery came after markets witnessed a sharp selloff in recent sessions amid rising geopolitical tensions.
The Sensex jumped 414 points to 79,530, while the Nifty 50 gained around 150 points to reach 24,615.95. Thursday’s rally added nearly ₹3.9 lakh crore to the total market capitalisation of companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
