From the Sensex pack, Larsen & Toubro, BEL, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel and Bajaj Finacne were among the major gainers, with L&T leading the pack by gaining over 4 per cent in the early trade. On the other hand, Tata Motors, Asian Paints, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank were among the laggards, with Tata Motors falling 3.70 per cent in the opening trade.

In early trade, 1,547 stocks in the Nifty pack were trading in the green, while 760 were trading in the red. 80 stocks remained unchanged.

“If the index sustains above 24,800, a further rally toward 25,000 and 25,200 can be anticipated in the near term. However, on the downside, 24,600 serves as immediate support, and a decisive break below this level could trigger a deeper correction toward 24,200–24,160,” Hardik Matalia, Derivative Analyst – Research at Choice Equity Broking Private Limited.
