Sensex down 300 pts; Nifty below 25,950; trading on MCX delayed

Indian stock markets were trading lower, tracking muted show in Asia markets.

At 10:09 AM, BSE Sensex was at 84,562.63, down 216 points or 0.26 per cent and the Nifty50 quoted 25,907.6, down 58.45 points or 0.23 per cent.

Tata Steel, L&T, Tata Motors PV, Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki and Adani Ports were among the top Sensex gainers.

On the downside, ICICI Bank, Bajaj twins, Axis Bank and TCS were among the top laggards.

In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap index was down 0.13 per cent and the Nifty SmallCap index added 0.03 per cent.

Among sectors, the Nifty Metal index rose over 1 per cent, leading the sectoral gains. On the other hand, Nifty Realty slipped over 1 per cent.
