Sensex down 300 pts, Nifty below 24,000 as Infosys, TCS weigh; Kospi drops 10%

The Nifty50 and the Sensex fell sharply as IT and metal stocks weighed amid a decline in global equities due to sell-off in technology stocks.

As of 12:00 PM, the Nifty50 fell 0.54 per cent or 129.20 points to 23,973.7, and the Sensex was down 0.5 per cent or 389 points at 76,704.75.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap was down 0.10 per cent, while the Nifty SmallCap rose 0.19 per cent.

Sector-wise, the Nifty IT and the Nifty Metal declined the most, while the Nifty Pharma and the Nifty Healthcare outperformed.
