Sanjay Raut steps back from public life due to health issues; PM Modi wishes him speedy recovery
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Friday announced that he is temporarily withdrawing from public life after being diagnosed with a “serious health issue,” prompting a wave of concern and well-wishes from political leaders and supporters.
Raut, a key leader of the Uddhav Thackeray faction and one of its most visible spokespersons, said he has been advised to avoid public interactions while he undergoes treatment.
“You have all loved and trusted me. But I have developed serious health issues and am undergoing treatment. I will come out of this,” he wrote on X, adding that doctors have instructed him not to step out or mingle in public. He expressed hope of regaining good health by next year.

Responding to his announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X:
“Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji.”
Raut replied in Hindi, thanking the Prime Minister on behalf of his family.

Raut has been a prominent critic of the BJP and an influential voice in Maharashtra politics, especially after the Shiv Sena split in 2022.
