Rift Between Gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar Alarms Intelligence Agencies
A significant split has developed between notorious gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, sparking concern among central intelligence agencies and state police forces monitoring their expansive criminal network, according to a report by The Indian Express.
Lawrence Bishnoi, currently lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail in Gujarat, and Goldy Brar, believed to be operating from the United States, have reportedly ended their collaboration. The fallout is expected to cause disruptions within their syndicate and may lead to turf wars or shifting loyalties.
Fallout Over Anmol’s U.S. Arrest
Sources told The Indian Express that the feud began after Bishnoi grew angry with Brar and gangster Sachin Godara for failing to adequately support his brother Anmol’s legal case in the U.S. Anmol was arrested by U.S. immigration authorities in November 2024 for allegedly using forged documents. Though later released with an ankle tracker, Bishnoi reportedly felt betrayed by Brar and Godara’s inaction in securing a proper bail bond.
Anmol has been named in the 2022 assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and is also accused of masterminding the 2023 killing of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.
New Alliances, Shifting Loyalties
As per officials cited in the report, the Bishnoi-Brar syndicate has splintered:
-
Goldy Brar is now believed to be working with Azerbaijan-based gangster Rohit Godara.
-
Lawrence Bishnoi has aligned with Canada-based Noni Rana (Surya Pratap), the younger brother of Haryana gangster Kala Rana.
Noni Rana is reportedly operating from the U.S., managing extortion calls and financial dealings on behalf of Bishnoi.
Intelligence Coordination and NIA Briefing
The growing tensions between these syndicates were recently discussed in a meeting involving the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and senior police officers from Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi.
Adding to the unease, intelligence sources noted that Brar and Godara had recently claimed responsibility for the killing of Harjit Singh, a trucking business owner in Mississauga, Canada, but pointedly omitted any mention of Bishnoi or his group—breaking from usual patterns in such declarations.
A History of High-Profile Crimes
Lawrence Bishnoi has been repeatedly linked to high-profile criminal acts, including multiple threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and the killings of Sidhu Moosewala and Baba Siddique.
Meanwhile, Canadian authorities have accused Indian agents of collaborating with the Bishnoi gang to incite violence on Canadian soil—an allegation India has strongly denied.
According to intelligence officials, Bishnoi initially built his criminal empire by forming alliances with a wide range of regional gangsters, including:
-
Dhananjay Singh (Uttar Pradesh)
-
Jaggu Bhagwanpuria (Punjab)
-
Kala Jatheri (Haryana)
-
Rohit Godara (Rajasthan)
-
Rohit Moi and Hashim Baba (Delhi)
The emerging split between Bishnoi and Brar signals a major shift in India’s organized crime landscape and has prompted heightened surveillance and operational coordination among security forces.
