Ranveer Singh Recalls How His Love Story With Deepika Padukone Began During ‘Ram Leela’ Shoot in Udaipur

Actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone began dating while filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela. The 2013 blockbuster not only marked the beginning of their on-screen pairing but also the start of their real-life relationship. The couple later appeared together in Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and 83.

Ranveer recently opened up about the early days of their romance during his speech at the sangeet ceremony of US billionaire Padmaja and Rama Raju Mantena’s daughter, Netra Mantena, on November 21.

A video of Ranveer’s speech, now circulating on X, shows the actor fondly recalling how their relationship began.

“I want to tell you, Udaipur is like a lucky charm for love stories,” he said. “I shot a movie here called Ramleela. Have you seen it?” he asked, as the audience cheered. “It was on the long Udaipur schedule of Ramleela that our love story blossomed.”

He added, “Nidra and Vamsi, since then it’s been 13 years of togetherness, seven years of marriage and one beautiful baby girl. So you see, Udaipur is very, very lucky for love stories!”

About Their Marriage

Ranveer and Deepika married on November 14, 2018, in an intimate ceremony at Lake Como, Italy, attended by close family and friends. They released their wedding video five years later during the premiere episode of Koffee with Karan Season 8 on Disney+ Hotstar.

The couple welcomed their daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, in September this year and revealed her face publicly for the first time during Diwali through an Instagram post.
