Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured at the BrahMos Aerospace unit in Lucknow.

According to an official statement, this milestone not only strengthens the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) but also bolsters India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

BrahMos Aerospace successfully produced the missiles at its new integration and test facility in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow. The state-of-the-art unit, inaugurated on May 11, 2025, is equipped with modern infrastructure for missile integration, testing, and final quality checks. Once cleared, the missiles are ready for deployment with the Indian armed forces.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, and several other officials were present at the event.
