Pune murder case: Siya Goyal’s brother Sahil claims she wanted to marry Ketan Agarwal, says she was ‘confused’ about Chetan Chaudhary

In the Pune murder case involving realtor Ketan Agarwal’s death, Siya Goyal’s brother Sahil Goyal has claimed that his sister wanted to marry Ketan and was “confused” about her relationship with alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary.

Siya and Chetan are accused of killing Ketan at Lohagad Fort in Pune on June 18. Police have alleged that the duo planned the murder as they wanted to marry each other, despite Siya’s engagement to Ketan.

According to reports, Sahil knew about Siya’s relationship with Chetan, as the two had reportedly met through him. However, he said he did not inform their parents because Siya had assured him that she wanted to marry Ketan.

“Siya told me that she wanted to spend her life with Ketan and did not want anything to do with Chetan. She assured me there was nothing between them. She promised she would marry Ketan and have no contact with Chetan,” Sahil told NewsDotz.

Sahil said Siya was happy and actively preparing for her wedding with Ketan. He claimed she spent hours discussing their pre-wedding photoshoot, selecting songs and locations, and speaking with Ketan over video calls.

He further said Siya was unsure about her equation with Chetan and considered him a friend.

“She told me they were friends and that she liked his company. She was confused about whether it was friendship or something else. I explained that sometimes people mistake friendship for love, but she told me she wanted to move ahead with Ketan,” Sahil said.

Meanwhile, sources cited by NDTV said police are examining Sahil’s possible role in the case. Investigators are reportedly looking into whether he knew about Siya and Chetan’s relationship and deliberately concealed it from the family.

Police officials have reportedly claimed that their investigation contradicts Sahil’s version. According to the probe, Siya allegedly did not want to marry Ketan and had informed Sahil about it. Authorities suspect Sahil may have been aware of her relationship with Chetan but chose not to disclose it.

The police investigation has also raised questions over other incidents, including allegations that Sahil forced Siya into a car when she initially refused to go for the pre-wedding shoot. His alleged silence after Ketan’s passport was torn before the planned Bali trip has also come under scrutiny.

Although Sahil has not been officially named as an accused, he was questioned by police for more than 10 hours on Monday and his statement was recorded. Siya and Chetan remain in police custody and have reportedly confessed to the crime.
