Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Monday asserted that the upcoming Bihar Assembly election will be a direct contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and his party, claiming that the RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan, part of the INDIA bloc, will finish in third place.

“We are visiting every assembly constituency. Mahagathbandhan is in the third position. The fight is between NDA and Jan Suraaj. The announcements made by Tejashwi Yadav in the last five days make no sense. They are saying all this just to stay relevant — nobody is paying attention,” Kishor told ANI.

‘New Political History’ in the Making

Speaking at an election rally in Madhubani on Sunday, Kishor said voters are ready to move beyond what he called “fear-driven choices” between Nitish Kumar-BJP and Lalu Yadav-RJD. He claimed Bihar is witnessing the rise of a “leaderless, caste-neutral alternative” centered on the state’s youth.

“You will see a new political history being written in Bihar. The 30-year era of people voting for Nitish Kumar-BJP out of fear of Lalu ji, and for Lalu Yadav out of fear of BJP, is ending. A new alternative is emerging — one that belongs to the children of Bihar. If Jan Suraaj forms the government, no one will have to leave the state for livelihood,” he said.

On Tejashwi Yadav: ‘If the People Who Ruined Bihar Are Heroes, Who Are the Villains?’

Taking aim at RJD leader and INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav, Kishor said, “If the people who have ruined Bihar are called ‘heroes,’ then who is the villain? The people of Bihar know who brought the state to this condition. They can’t be the ‘nayak’ of Bihar.”

Tejashwi Yadav, meanwhile, promised that if the INDIA bloc comes to power, the Waqf (Amendment) Act will be “thrown into the dustbin,” and allowances for Panchayati Raj representatives will be doubled.

Voting for the Bihar Assembly election will be held in two phases — on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
