PM Narendra Modi urges Benjamin Netanyahu to seek ‘early’ end to hostilities
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that he had spoken with his Israeli counterpart and called for an “early” end to the conflict following strikes on Iran.
“India reiterates the need for an early cessation of hostilities,” Modi wrote on X after his phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he met in Jerusalem on Thursday.
Modi said he “conveyed India’s concerns over recent developments and emphasized the safety of civilians as a priority.”
The prime minister also spoke with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan after Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the Gulf.
“India stands in solidarity with the UAE in these difficult times,” Modi said, adding, “We support de-escalation, regional peace, security and stability.”
