PM Narendra Modi to Inaugurate the ‘Rising North East Investors Summit 2025’; Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Calls the Summit Historic, Targets Investment of ₹4.22 Lakh Crore
Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, announced that the through pre-summit activities, the Northeastern region has already attracted an investment of ₹4.22 lakh crore into the 8 states.
He stated that over the past year, multiple efforts have been made to draw investor attention to the region, including the Ashtalakshmi Festival in New Delhi, a Banking Summit in Tripura, and now, the Investors Summit in Delhi—marking the third such major initiative.
A Major Step Towards Making the Northeast the Engine of India’s Growth
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 on 23rd May at 10:30 AM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The two-day summit (23–24 May) aims to position Northeast India as a leading destination for global investment. The summit seeks to portray the region as a Land of Opportunities, rich with untapped potential. It will bring together global and domestic investors, policymakers, industrialists, and government representatives on one platform.
Nine Roadshows in Eleven Months to Attract Investment
To boost investment in the region, the Ministry of Development of Northeastern Region has conducted nine roadshows across major Indian cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati, and New Delhi over the past 11 months.
The Northeast: A New Growth Axis for India – Scindia
Scindia emphasized that with over 80% literacy, 70% youth population, and a growth rate of 12–13%, the Northeast is emerging as a promising investment destination.
“There was a time when this region was seen as the periphery of India, but today, it stands at the center of India’s growth story,” he said. The summit includes 11 technical sessions with Cabinet Ministers and Chief Ministers as part of Panel, Business-to-Government (B2G), Business-to-Business (B2B) dialogues, and active participation from startups. Additionally, there will be a comprehensive exhibition showcasing state and central government initiatives and policies promoting investment.

Scindia stated that the summit is a significant effort to present the immense potential of Northeast India to global investors. “This event will showcase our incredible Ashtalakshmi—our eight Northeastern states—which are at the heart of India’s transformational growth,” he said.
The summit will see the participation of various Union ministries, Members of Parliament, diplomats, and Governors and Chief Ministers of the Northeastern states, among other senior dignitaries.
