PM Modi Welcomes First Phase of Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan, Hails Steps Toward Lasting Peace

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday welcomed the agreement between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, calling it a positive step toward stability in the region.

“We welcome the agreement on the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan. This is also a reflection of the strong leadership of PM Netanyahu,” Modi wrote on X.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that the release of hostages and the expansion of humanitarian assistance in Gaza “will bring respite to them and pave the way for lasting peace.”

India has reiterated its support for all diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring calm and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Modi’s statement came shortly after Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had reached a US- and Qatari-brokered deal for the release of hostages and a partial withdrawal of troops.
