PM Modi Hails Operation Sindoor as Showcase of India’s Military Might, Signals Openness to Parliamentary Debate
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, lauded the success of Operation Sindoor, calling it a powerful demonstration of India’s growing military prowess and strategic autonomy.
He said the operation had not only safeguarded national interests but also captured the world’s attention as a display of India’s modern, indigenous defence capabilities.
“The houses of terror masterminds were flattened within 22 minutes under Operation Sindoor. The world is taking note of this new avatar of Made in India military power,” PM Modi said, adding that international interest in India’s domestically produced weaponry has surged in recent months.
Linking military strength with national pride, the Prime Minister also highlighted India’s advances in space, citing astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla’s recent mission to the International Space Station as a milestone that underscores India’s growing stature on the global stage.
Reaffirming the government’s push for defence self-reliance, Modi emphasized that the weapons used in Operation Sindoor were 100% Made in India and that the mission achieved complete success, strengthening India’s reputation as a capable and assertive global power.
Meanwhile, as the opposition sharpened its demands during an all-party meeting, the Centre signaled its willingness to discuss Operation Sindoor in Parliament. It also indicated openness to respond to former US President Donald Trump’s claims of mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan — an assertion that has stirred political debate.
The Prime Minister described the Monsoon Session as a “moment of national pride” and urged lawmakers to rise above party lines in acknowledging the country’s recent achievements in defence and space exploration.
