8

A new report by HelloSafe has ranked the world’s most dangerous countries to travel to using a comprehensive Travel Safety Index. The index evaluated 35 different criteria across five key categories, including the occurrence of natural disasters, violence in society, and health infrastructure. Countries were scored on a scale from 0 to 100, with 100 representing the highest level of danger.

World’s Most Dangerous Country: The Philippines

Topping the list is the Philippines, which received a score of 82.31. The ranking was primarily due to what HelloSafe described as “high levels of violence within society.”

Despite this alarming safety score, the Philippines remains a top tourist destination, attracting 5.4 million foreign visitors in 2024. The country also earned the title of “Asia’s Leading Beach Destination” at the 2024 World Travel Awards and recently implemented a visa-free entry policy for Indian tourists, further boosting its tourism appeal.
