Patak Patak Ke Maarenge’: Nishikant Dubey Dares ‘Bade Boss’ After Raj Thackeray’s Marathi Language Warning

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Monday triggered a fresh political controversy after hitting back at MNS chief Raj Thackeray over his controversial remarks urging party workers to target non-Marathi speakers.

Without directly naming Thackeray, Dubey took a sharp dig at the MNS leader, calling him a “bahut bada boss” and warning, “Tumko patak patak ke maarenge” (you’ll be thrashed repeatedly), challenging him to step outside Maharashtra.

Dubey’s comments came in response to Raj Thackeray’s statement at a recent victory rally in Mumbai, where he told MNS workers to confront those refusing to speak Marathi, and advised them to “hit below their eardrums” — while also cautioning them against recording videos of such actions.

The BJP MP also slammed the Thackeray cousins — Raj and Uddhav — who recently shared a stage after two decades, accusing them of resorting to “cheap politics” ahead of the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.

“You say people must speak Marathi — but whose bread are you eating? Tata, Birla, and Reliance are not exclusive to Maharashtra. Tata’s first factory was set up in Bihar. You people survive on our money,” Dubey said, lashing out at the duo.

He further dared Raj Thackeray to target speakers of other languages as well: “If you’re bold enough to beat Hindi speakers, then go beat Urdu, Tamil, and Telugu speakers too. If you’re such a big boss, step out of Maharashtra — come to Bihar, UP, or Tamil Nadu — and you’ll be thrashed,” Dubey said, denouncing what he called “anarchy.”

Taking another swipe, Dubey challenged the Thackerays to go to Mahim and try attacking any Hindi or Urdu-speaking individual near the Mahim Dargah to prove their strength. “Then I’ll believe they are true heirs of Balasaheb Thackeray,” he said.

The remarks sparked outrage, with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi slamming Dubey. “Who made him the gatekeeper of Hindi, the tax collector of India, or the spokesperson for industrialists?” she asked.

Chaturvedi also questioned Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, asking whether he endorses the BJP MP’s language and the “disparaging comments” about hardworking Maharashtrians.
