Pak Army Chief Mocked for Calling India a ‘Shining Mercedes’ and Pakistan a ‘Dump Truck’

Pakistani military chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has drawn ridicule online after comparing India to a “shining Mercedes” and his own country to a “dump truck” during an event in Florida.

“I am going to use a crude analogy,” Munir said, according to The Print. “India is [a] shining Mercedes coming on a highway like Ferrari [sic], but we are a dump truck full of gravel. If the truck hits the car, who is going to be the loser?”

Munir appeared to frame Pakistan as the sturdier, more dangerous neighbour, but the phrasing quickly backfired. Social media users fixated on the unintended implication that India is better, flooding X with posts mocking him.

“The only truth in Munir’s statement is that India is the Mercedes, and his country is the dump truck. The rest is delusion,” one user wrote, referencing his earlier threat that Pakistan could plunge “half the world” into nuclear war if confronted by India.

Others accused Munir of insulting his own country — “apne desh ki beizzati karwa raha hai,” one post read. Another used AI art to visualise a Mercedes–dump truck collision.

“I thought it was a joke when I first read this. But no, this is real,” another quipped. “Pakistan truly deserves Asim Munir as their Army Chief.”
