More than half a million people in Cambodia have been displaced after two weeks of deadly border clashes with neighboring Thailand, the country’s interior ministry said on Sunday.

In a statement, the ministry said that at least 518,611 Cambodians, including women and children, have been forced to flee their homes and schools to escape artillery fire, rockets, and aerial bombardments, including strikes by Thailand’s F-16 aircraft.

Thailand has also reported large-scale displacement, with authorities in Bangkok saying around 400,000 people have been forced from their homes due to the renewed border conflict.
