The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday congratulated Team India following its 88-run win over Pakistan in the ICC Women’s World Cup, declaring that “Operation Sindoor” continues. India’s bowlers, Kranti Goud and Deepti Sharma, each took three wickets to secure the victory.

“13-0! India’s perfect record against Pakistan at ODI World Cups continues. #OperationSindoor continues. India wins. Now and always,” the BJP posted on X.

Home Minister Amit Shah also praised the team, calling the win a “perfect strike.” He wrote on X:

“Dominating display of India’s cricketing might by our Women’s Cricket team in today’s match in the ICC Women’s World Cup. Nation is proud of our team. Best wishes for your upcoming matches.”

Match Highlights and Controversies

Tensions were high before the match as both captains skipped the customary handshake at the toss and had minimal interaction during the game, continuing a pattern seen in the recent men’s Asia Cup in the UAE.

The game took a dramatic turn during Pakistan’s second innings when opener Muneeba Ali was controversially dismissed for just two runs off 12 balls.

  • Kranti Goud bowled a delivery that struck Muneeba’s pad. Although the initial LBW appeal was rejected, the controversy arose when Muneeba stepped out of her crease and the ball hit the stumps.

  • While she had briefly grounded her bat, it was airborne at the moment the stumps were hit.

  • After a tense wait, the big screen confirmed Muneeba was out, adding to the match drama.

India’s win extended their unbeaten ODI World Cup record against Pakistan to 13-0, reinforcing their dominance in the historic rivalry.
