Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday informed the Lok Sabha that the three terrorists killed in a recent encounter in Jammu and Kashmir were responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Speaking in Parliament, Shah said the joint Operation Mahadev — conducted by the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police — led to the elimination of all three attackers.

“In a joint Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police neutralised three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack,” Shah said.

The terrorists were identified as Suleiman alias Faizal, Afghan, and Jibran — all top operatives of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. “Suleiman was an A-category commander of the LeT. Afghan and Jibran were also classified as A-grade terrorists. All three were directly involved in killing our citizens in Baisaran Valley,” Shah added.

The home minister praised the forces for their swift and coordinated action in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
