‘No Proof of Life’: Imran Khan’s Son Appeals Amid Viral Death Rumours

Imran Khan’s son, Kasim Khan, has issued a sharp public appeal over the former Pakistani prime minister’s treatment in prison, alleging that the 73-year-old has been held in solitary confinement for weeks with no family access and “zero transparency” from authorities. His remarks come amid mounting criticism from Khan’s family, PTI leaders, and provincial officials, who describe an “undeclared blackout” surrounding his condition inside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.

The appeals intensified after unverified social-media rumours falsely claimed Imran Khan had been killed in prison. A handle called Afghanistan Times alleged he had been “murdered,” a claim denied by authorities and unsupported by any credible institution.

Kasim Khan Alleges ‘Death Cell’ Isolation

In a post on X, Kasim Khan said his father has been detained for 845 days and kept for the past six weeks in “a death cell”, with all visits blocked despite court orders. He said Khan’s sisters had been repeatedly denied access, while he and his brother had received “no contact” and “no proof of life.”

“This blackout is not security protocol — it is a deliberate attempt to hide his condition,” he wrote, warning that the government and its “handlers” would be held responsible. He urged global human-rights bodies and democratic governments to intervene.

Sister Says Media Under ‘Extreme Censorship’

Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi accused the government of enforcing severe media censorship, telling ANI that journalists faced detention and intimidation. She said prominent reporters had fled the country, drawing a comparison to “Hitler-era” repression.
Niazi described the Shehbaz Sharif government as “extremely unpopular,” alleging election rigging and claiming Western nations were aware of “fraud” yet unwilling to act.

PTI Steps Up Pressure

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi staged a dharna near Adiala Jail on Thursday after being denied a meeting with Khan for the eighth time. Police blocked Afridi and accompanying PTI workers from approaching the prison.
Afridi accused authorities of flouting court directives, asking why a representative of “25 million people” was being denied access. PTI leaders Zulfi Bukhari and Meher Bano Qureshi echoed demands for a transparent health update and immediate family visitation.

Jail Authorities Deny Mistreatment, Call Rumours ‘Baseless’

Adiala Jail officials rejected claims that Khan was being mistreated or that his health had deteriorated, insisting he was in “completely good health” and receiving proper care. They said rumours of his death or transfer were false and fuelled by unverified foreign social-media accounts.

Concerns escalated last week after Khan’s sisters — Niazi, Aleema Khan, and Dr Uzma Khan — alleged they were subjected to “brutal and orchestrated” police action while protesting outside the prison. They said streetlights were switched off before officers dragged and assaulted them. Niazi claimed she was pulled by her hair, thrown to the ground, and injured.
They began their protests after being denied meetings with Khan for more than a month.

Adiala Jail is administered by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who has said she has “no control” over Khan’s meetings. Imran Khan has previously alleged that an army colonel is overseeing jail affairs.
