Nandika Dwivedi Denies Role in Palash–Smriti Wedding Controversy, Says She Received Threats
Music composer Palash Muchhal and cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding was postponed after Smriti’s father was hospitalised, but the development quickly fuelled online rumours alleging Palash had cheated with a dance choreographer. Two names — Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz — surfaced in the speculation, prompting both to issue statements denying any involvement.
Nandika Dwivedi took to Instagram on Friday, writing that claims linking her to the couple’s relationship issues were “NOT true” and based on unfounded Reddit gossip. She said the rumours had caused her emotional distress and even led to threats, forcing her to make her account private. “Please do not take my name further than this; I have nothing to do with any of it,” she wrote.
Gulnaaz also released a statement distancing herself from the controversy.
The wedding was halted after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was rushed to a Sangli hospital with heart-attack-like symptoms. A day later, Palash himself was hospitalised. According to Palash’s mother, he shares a close bond with Smriti’s father and chose not to continue with the rituals until he recovered. Smriti has since removed her pre-wedding posts from Instagram, while Palash’s cousin Neeti Tak urged people not to judge him amid his health concerns.
