Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a major incentive scheme aimed at encouraging academic excellence among students of the state. Under this initiative, scooties will be awarded to the toppers of each district, while students scoring 75% or more in their 12th board exams will receive free laptops.
This announcement was made during the state-level function to honour high-performing students and reflects the government’s continued commitment to empowering youth through education and digital access.
Focus on Empowering Young Achievers
The scheme is designed to reward both merit and consistency, promoting healthy competition and acknowledging academic efforts. Students from government and recognized private schools affiliated with the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education will be eligible.
-
Scooty Scheme: District-wise toppers—especially girls—will be gifted two-wheelers as a mark of appreciation for their outstanding performance.
-
Laptop Scheme: All students scoring 75% and above in the 2025 Class 12 examinations will receive a free laptop to support their higher education and digital learning needs.
This dual benefit plan is expected to bridge the digital divide in semi-urban and rural regions and make students more tech-ready for future careers.
Continuation of Past Initiatives with Expansion
Madhya Pradesh has had a tradition of recognising meritorious students through awards and digital aid. This year’s scheme expands the scope by introducing scooties along with the ongoing laptop distribution program, thus broadening the benefits to reach more deserving students.
In his address, CM Yadav emphasized that youth are the backbone of the state’s development and that investing in their education is equivalent to investing in Madhya Pradesh’s future.
Selection Process and Distribution
The Education Department will coordinate with district collectors and school authorities to identify eligible students based on verified academic records. The distribution of scooties and laptops will be conducted in official public functions across all districts, with dates to be announced soon.
Students will not need to apply separately; their inclusion will be automatic based on their board results.
Government’s Broader Educational Vision
This initiative aligns with the state government’s broader focus on digital literacy, higher education access, and empowerment of girl students. The government is also looking to strengthen infrastructure, provide better internet connectivity, and introduce smart classrooms in public schools.
Through such schemes, Madhya Pradesh aims to inspire a generation of students to pursue higher education and technical skills, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development of the state.
