Massive Landslide Buries Petrol Pump in Jammu & Kashmir’s Udhampur
A massive landslide in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir buried a Hindustan Petroleum petrol pump under debris on Sunday evening. The incident occurred in the Balli Nullah area, bringing a large amount of earth and rock down the mountainside.
Officials said the landslide caused significant disruption in the area, though there were no immediate reports of casualties.
The petrol pump’s owner, Jai Pal Singh Jamwal, stated that the landslide struck around 7 pm. “There was a crack in the mountain nearby, which increased the load on the petrol pump, causing the collapse,” he said.
A fire official added that no lives were lost as people noticed the mountain cracking in advance and managed to remove items from the petrol pump. “There was a lot of damage to the HP petrol pump. The landslide is still ongoing,” the official said.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure safety and prevent further damage.
