Markets Open Higher as Oil Prices Ease, Iran-Israel Ceasefire Lifts Sentiment; Sensex Rises 565 Points

Indian stock markets started on a positive note on Wednesday, relieved from falling oil prices and a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. The BSE Sensex index was trading at 82,621, rising 565 points or 0.69 per cent, while the Nifty50 was at 25,207, up 163 points or 0.65 per cent.

Titan Company, Eternal, Bharti Airtel, HCL Tech, RIL, Tech M, Infosys, and HDFC Bank were the top Sensex gainers today, rising up to 2 per cent.

On the downside, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank, and BEL were the top losers, down up to 1.3 per cent.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index and the Nifty SmallCap index added 0.56 per cent and 01.48 per cent, respectively. India VIX fell nearly 3 per cent.

Market breadth on the NSE was extremely positive with 2,100 stocks trading in the green vs 503 stocks in the red.

Among sectors, the Nifty IT, and the Nifty FMCG indices were the top gainers, rising 1 per cent and 0.80 per cent, respectively.
