Man Allegedly Kills Girlfriend, Shoots Self in Parked Car in Noida on Valentine’s Day
A man and a woman were found dead inside a parked car with gunshot wounds to their heads in Noida on Saturday, February 14, police said.
According to preliminary findings cited by PTI, the 32-year-old man allegedly shot his 26-year-old girlfriend before turning the weapon on himself. The couple, believed to be in a relationship, were discovered inside a locked car near pillar number 84 on Dadri Road in Sector 107, under the jurisdiction of Sector-39 Police Station.
Police teams reached the spot after receiving information and recovered a pistol from the scene. “A boy and a girl were found inside the car with gunshot wounds to their heads. A pistol was found in the boy’s hand, and the car was locked from the inside. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Manisha Singh told PTI.
Both individuals have been identified. The man was a resident of Delhi’s Trilokpuri, while the woman was from Salarpur in Noida’s Sector 101. Their families have been informed, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Senior officers and forensic teams inspected the site, and further investigation is underway.
Murder-suicide angle under probe
Media reports indicated that investigators are also examining a possible murder-suicide scenario. A note allegedly recovered from the man claimed the two had been in a relationship for several years and referenced a dispute over marriage, as reported by India Today. Authorities have not yet issued an official conclusion on this aspect.
Similar recent case in Delhi
The incident comes days after a separate case in northwest Delhi’s Peeragarhi, where three people were found dead inside a parked car. Police later said the victims — Randhir Singh, 76; Shiv Naresh, 47; and Laxmi, 40 — were allegedly poisoned by a 72-year-old self-styled tantrik who had promised to multiply their money through supernatural means. Further investigation in that case is ongoing.
