Mahesh Babu calls Dhurandhar: The Revenge ‘an explosion’, praises Ranveer Singh’s performance
Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s much-awaited film Dhurandhar: The Revenge hit theatres on March 19 to glowing reviews, with several stars lauding the action-packed sequel. The latest to join the praise chorus is Mahesh Babu, who described the film as “an explosion” and hailed Ranveer Singh’s performance.
Taking to X, Mahesh Babu wrote that the film is “an explosion executed with perfect precision,” calling it the “finest version” of Ranveer Singh on screen. He also praised Dhar’s direction, saying the filmmaker delivered a “standing ovation-worthy experience.”
He gave a special mention to R Madhavan for his performance and appreciated Shashwat Sachdev’s music, calling the film one that is meant to be “experienced and celebrated.” Dhar responded with gratitude, thanking Mahesh Babu for his support.
Jr NTR also praised the film, calling it a “storm” and lauding Ranveer Singh for delivering a “masterclass.” He commended Dhar’s vision and highlighted strong performances by Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal, along with Madhavan’s impactful screen presence.
About the film
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is the sequel to the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar. The original followed Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy infiltrating a criminal syndicate in Pakistan’s Lyari to dismantle a terror network, eventually killing Akshaye Khanna’s character Rehman Dakait.
The sequel picks up from there, exploring the spy’s rise to power and delving into his backstory, culminating in an intense face-off with Arjun Rampal’s character.
The film also features a strong ensemble cast including R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Iqbal, Danish Pandor and Sara Arjun. It has opened to a massive box office response, collecting ₹146 crore net on day one, including ₹43 crore from paid previews.
