Residents across Delhi-NCR woke up to fresh showers on Monday morning, with visuals showing light rain in several parts of the capital and Noida.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city, warning of light rain and thunderstorms through the day.

Budget carrier SpiceJet also issued a travel advisory, cautioning passengers of possible delays. “Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status,” the airline said on X. Other major carriers, including IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa Air, have not issued advisories so far.

Sunday’s heavy rain had already led to traffic snarls and waterlogging in parts of the capital. Areas including Preet Vihar, Rajeev Chowk, ITO, India Gate, Safdarjung, and Lajpat Nagar reported significant rainfall.

Over the weekend, the IMD had briefly issued a red alert after intense showers, lightning, and thunderstorms hit Delhi-NCR late Saturday, advising residents to stay indoors and avoid low-lying areas.
