Leaked Audio Fuels New Controversy Over Epstein Case as FBI Faces Allegations of Negligence

Amid intensifying political fallout surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case, newly leaked audio has raised fresh questions about how the investigation was handled by federal authorities. According to a report from O’Keefe Media Group (OMG), an FBI official is heard suggesting that law enforcement agencies may have “turned a blind eye” to critical aspects of the case.

In the audio, Rami Hassan, identified as a Deputy Senior National Intelligence Officer at the FBI, reportedly remarks that investigative opportunities were missed in Epstein’s case. “You can see where law enforcement kinda either turned a blind eye… or missed things [on Jeffrey Epstein],” Hassan is quoted as saying. “There’s opportunities there… just from, like, I understand, hearing and listening.”

Hassan also allegedly claimed that the White House had plans to selectively release certain documents related to the Epstein investigation, including through coordination with right-wing bloggers and influencers — a detail that has raised eyebrows across the political spectrum.

Fallout Deepens Over DOJ’s Closure of Epstein Case

The leaked audio comes on the heels of a controversial memo released jointly by the Department of Justice and the FBI, officially declaring the Epstein case closed. The memo concluded that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide and stated there was no credible evidence of foul play or the existence of a “client list” — a central point of contention in right-wing circles.

“This systematic review revealed no incriminating client list,” the memo read. “There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals… nor grounds to investigate uncharged third parties.”

The conclusion has ignited backlash from several Trump-aligned figures. FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino have publicly rejected the findings, insisting that the existence of a client list should not be dismissed so easily.

Adding to the turmoil, Attorney General Pam Bondi, who previously hinted that an Epstein client list was under review, has since clarified that what her office is examining are general documents from the case — not a specific list of names.

Infighting Within Trump Circles

Tensions have escalated between key Trump allies over the handling of the case. Bondi and Bongino were reportedly involved in a heated exchange at the White House earlier this week over the DOJ’s conclusions, further exposing a growing divide within the MAGA camp.

The leaked remarks by Hassan are expected to add fuel to the fire, intensifying suspicions among conspiracy theorists and skeptics of the federal investigation. With the Epstein case long regarded as a lightning rod for distrust in government institutions, these new revelations — if verified — may reignite demands for transparency and independent inquiry.
