Kapil Sharma’s Canada Café Attacked for Second Time, Police Probe Gunfire: Report

For the second time in under a month, Kap’s Cafe — a Surrey-based business owned by comedian Kapil Sharma — has been targeted in a brazen shooting incident, fueling growing concerns about rising violence and extortion threats in the area, according to local media reports.

The latest attack took place early Thursday morning at the café’s location near 85 Avenue and Scott Road. Surrey Police confirmed that at least six bullets struck the building, shattering windows and leaving visible damage. An investigation is underway, but the motive remains unclear.

Residents Jolted by Gunfire

Local residents were jolted awake by the sound of gunshots.

“I saw it from my patio. I heard shots fired, like five or six shots, and then the cops came,”
said Bob Singh, speaking to CityNews 1130.

Another resident, Michelle Gaucher, reported hearing eight shots at around 4:35 a.m.:

“It was not fireworks. I got up with the dogs and could hear sirens in the area. It was near the same spot where Kap’s Café was shot up a couple of weeks ago,” she said.
“The area was closed off for about a block with emergency vehicles on site.”

Repeat Attack Raises Alarm

This incident follows a similar shooting in early July, just days after Kap’s Café opened. In that earlier attack, gunshots were fired while staff members were reportedly inside. Thankfully, no injuries occurred. No arrests were made in that case, and the motive also remained unknown.

Growing Concerns in the Community

The back-to-back shootings have rattled the local community and raised fears of organized crime activity or extortion rackets. Authorities have not confirmed any links but are actively investigating both incidents.

As of now, no suspects have been identified in either case, and Kapil Sharma has not publicly commented on the shootings. The café remains temporarily closed as the investigation continues.
