Kangana Ranaut hails BJP’s BMC victory, recalls 2020 bungalow demolition
Actor and BJP leader Kangana Ranaut congratulated her party on its historic win in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, while taking a swipe at what she called “women-haters, bullies, and nepotism mafia” in reference to the demolition of part of her Bandra West bungalow in 2020.
The BMC had demolished a section of Ranaut’s property in the upscale Pali Hill area when the undivided Shiv Sena was in power. She had approached the Bombay High Court, which later ruled that the civic body’s actions were “actuated by malafide” and violated her rights.
Speaking to NDTV after the BJP emerged as the single-largest party in the BMC, Ranaut said she was thrilled with the results and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. “Maharashtra has shown the right place to people who abused me and demolished my house,” she said. “And for those who abused me, called me names, threatened me to leave Maharashtra, today Maharashtra has quit them.”
She added, “I am glad such women-haters, bullies, and nepotism mafia are being shown their right place by the janta janardan.” Ranaut had previously claimed that the 2020 demolition was carried out out of malice following her criticism of the Mumbai Police.

The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance won 25 of the 29 municipal corporations across Maharashtra, including key civic bodies in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Thane, Nashik, and Navi Mumbai.
