In a delightful throwback to the golden era of Bollywood, actress Kajol recently shared a hilarious anecdote from the sets of the 1998 cult classic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, revealing how a freak accident during filming led to a moment of unexpected comedy—and friendship.

Speaking during a promotional event, Kajol recounted falling off a bicycle while shooting a scene and temporarily losing her memory. While Shah Rukh Khan—her co-star and close friend—rushed to give her medicine and check on her condition, director Karan Johar responded in his trademark tongue-in-cheek fashion.

“Karan Johar looked at me and said, ‘Who are you? You’re just a background dancer.’ He didn’t want me to regain my memory!” Kajol recalled with laughter.

The Scene That Went Wrong

During the shoot for one of the college campus scenes, Kajol was cycling when she lost control and fell flat, resulting in a brief loss of memory. Though the incident might sound serious, the cast and crew soon realized she would be okay—after which the teasing began.

“I really did forget a few things for a little while,” Kajol explained. “SRK was concerned, got me some medicine immediately. But Karan turned it into a comedy moment. That’s him!”

The camaraderie between Kajol, SRK, and Karan Johar has long been known, and this moment simply adds another layer to their bond, reflecting the family-like atmosphere on set.

Nostalgia and Lighthearted Banter

The anecdote resurfaced during a nostalgic segment as the cast reminisced about 25 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, a film that defined a generation and became a pop-culture phenomenon.

Fans were treated not just to memories of the film’s iconic dialogues and music, but also behind-the-scenes laughter, pranks, and chaos that shaped the shoot.

“We were all so young and just having fun. That’s what made the film so special,” Kajol said.

A Fall, a Joke, and a Classic Memory

Kajol’s anecdote isn’t just a humorous look back at a mishap—it captures the warmth and closeness shared by the cast and crew of one of Bollywood’s most beloved films. The moment serves as a reminder that behind every cinematic masterpiece are real friendships, spontaneous jokes, and a lot of heart.
