Jolly LLB 3 Advance Booking: Akshay-Arshad Face-Off Opens Soft, Under ₹1 Crore So Far
Subhash Kapoor’s Jolly LLB 3 will see Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi come face-to-face in a courtroom battle, but the film’s advance bookings have been underwhelming so far.
Bookings opened on 15 September, four days before its release, but in two days the film has sold only 32,000 tickets, grossing around ₹99 lakh for day one, according to Sacnilk. With less than two days left, pre-sales are yet to cross the ₹1 crore mark — a modest figure for a legacy franchise fronted by Akshay Kumar.
The makers, however, may take solace in the genre. Courtroom comedies typically benefit more from strong word of mouth than advance sales. Jolly LLB 2 (2017), for instance, had a weak pre-sale run but still opened at ₹13 crore and went on to earn ₹117 crore in India.
In the latest instalment, Akshay’s Jagdwishwar “Jolly” Mishra defends a political heavyweight accused of land-grabbing, while Arshad’s Jagdish “Jolly” Tyagi fights for the villagers. The film also stars Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, Gajraj Rao, and Seema Biswas. Jolly LLB 3 hits theatres on 19 September.
