JeM Commander Claims Gen Asim Munir Ordered Officers to Honour Terrorists Killed in Operation Sindoor
A fresh video of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri has surfaced online, in which he claims Pakistan Army chief General Asim Munir ordered senior officers to attend the funerals of terrorists killed in India’s Operation Sindoor with full military honours.
Kashmiri purportedly says in the clip that Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ) directed corps commanders to join the funeral processions in uniform, salute the slain militants, and stand guard.
Another video from the same event also shows Kashmiri linking JeM chief Masood Azhar directly to terror attacks in Delhi and Mumbai. Speaking in Urdu, he recounts Azhar’s release from Delhi’s Tihar Jail and says: “It was the soil of Balakot that gave him strength to carry forward his mission in Delhi and Mumbai… every grain of this soil remains indebted to him.”
HT.com has not independently verified the authenticity of the footage.
The clips follow an earlier recording where Kashmiri admitted Indian forces “devastated” Masood Azhar’s family during Operation Sindoor strikes in Bahawalpur.
Operation Sindoor
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists. In coordinated overnight strikes, the Army, Navy and Air Force hit nine terror hideouts in Bahawalpur, Kotli and Muridke, targeting entrenched JeM, LeT and Hizbul Mujahideen networks.
While India reported no civilian casualties, Pakistan claimed 26 deaths and 46 injuries but did not acknowledge that the sites were terrorist hubs.
