Jason Miller, Lobbyist for India, Meets Trump Amid US-India Trade Tensions
Political lobbyist Jason Miller, who heads the firm hired by the Indian government to advance its diplomatic outreach in Washington, met President Donald Trump and other officials during a recent visit. Miller shared a photo from the White House on X, calling it a “fantastic week in Washington” and praising the opportunity to “see our President in action.”
The meeting comes at a sensitive time as US-India trade relations face renewed scrutiny, with tariffs and bilateral economic strategies under discussion. Miller’s firm, SHW Partners LLC, was hired by India in April for $150,000 per month to provide strategic counsel, government relations support, and policy advice to the US government, Congress, and other stakeholders.
A veteran of Trump’s campaigns, Miller rose to prominence in 2016 as the former president’s chief media spokesperson and has remained a close adviser despite past controversies. He registered as a foreign agent representing Indian interests in 2020.
