Israeli Strikes on Iran Kill at Least 950, Injure Over 3,400, Says Rights Group

At least 950 people have been killed and 3,450 wounded in Israeli strikes across Iran, according to new figures released Monday by the Washington-based group Human Rights Activists.

The group, which gained recognition for its detailed reporting during Iran’s 2022 protests over the death of Mahsa Amini, said it had verified 380 civilian and 253 security force fatalities among the dead. It cross-referenced reports from inside Iran with its established network of in-country sources to compile the data.

Iranian authorities have not provided consistent updates on casualties since the conflict began. The latest official figures came Saturday, when the Health Ministry acknowledged around 400 deaths and over 3,000 injuries—numbers significantly lower than those reported by Human Rights Activists.

Tehran has previously downplayed casualty numbers in times of unrest or military conflict.
