As expected, Cameron Green headlined the auction as Kolkata Knight Riders made a bold statement by splurging ₹25.2 crore to sign the Australian all-rounder, underlining their intent to build around a proven match-winner. KKR kept the momentum going with another big buy, shelling out ₹18 crore for Matheesha Pathirana to strengthen their pace attack with one of the most sought-after young fast bowlers in the circuit.

Venkatesh Iyer, however, saw a sharp correction in his valuation. Royal Challengers Bengaluru picked him up for ₹7 crore, and while KKR did re-enter the bidding for their former player, they pulled out early this time—a stark contrast to the fierce pursuit that had driven his price up last season.

Chennai Super Kings stole the spotlight on the domestic front, breaking the bank for Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma at ₹14.2 crore each. The signings not only made them the costliest Indian buys of the day but also saw both players create history as the joint most expensive uncapped purchases in auction history. Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, showed clear intent by investing ₹8.4 crore in Auqib Nabi Dar, backing the youngster as a long-term prospect.

The action picked up pace late in the day as overseas names returned to demand. Sunrisers Hyderabad secured power-hitter Liam Livingstone for ₹13 crore, adding significant firepower to their middle order. Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman also commanded big money, emerging as one of the most expensive overseas bowlers at ₹9.2 crore.

Uncapped Indian players continued to enjoy a bumper day, with Salil Arora fetching nearly five times his base price and Mangesh Yadav attracting a ₹5.2 crore deal, capping off an auction defined by bold spending and record-breaking numbers. Prithvi Shaw also found a late buyer in his former franchise, Delhi Capitals, who signed him on the third attempt for ₹75 lakh. Kyle Jamieson was the final player to be sold, with DC picking up the New Zealand all-rounder for ₹2 crore.
