An IndiGo flight bound for Hyderabad from Kuwait was diverted to Mumbai on Tuesday after authorities received an email warning of a “human bomb” onboard, according to reports.

The threat message, received at Delhi airport, prompted emergency protocols, News18 reported. IndiGo is yet to issue an official statement.

Security and emergency response teams were placed on standby at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport ahead of the aircraft’s precautionary landing. The flight, operating as 6E1234, is an Airbus A321-251NX that departed Kuwait at 1:56 am and landed safely in Mumbai at 8:10 am, according to FlightRadar24 data.

The incident comes days after a similar scare on November 23, when Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport received a bomb threat involving a Bahrain–Hyderabad flight. That aircraft was also diverted to Mumbai, where authorities conducted checks and found no explosives. Police later confirmed the threat was a hoax and registered a case based on a complaint from airport officials.
