India Relocates Citizens from High-Risk Areas in Iran Amid Escalating Israel-Iran Tensions
India has begun relocating its citizens, including students, from high-risk areas in Iran amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.
The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed on Monday that the Indian embassy in Tehran is actively working to ensure the safety of Indian nationals.
“The Indian Embassy in Tehran is continuously monitoring the security situation and engaging Indian students in Iran to ensure their safety,” the ministry said in a statement.
It further noted, “In some cases, students are being relocated with the Embassy’s facilitation to safer places within Iran.”
The precautionary move follows a new wave of conflict, with Israel launching multiple attacks on Iran starting Friday, prompting retaliatory strikes from Tehran and raising fears of broader instability in the region.
The embassy also said it remains in contact with community leaders to coordinate welfare and safety efforts.
