INDIA Bloc MPs March to EC Over Bihar Voter Roll Row, Allege ‘Fraud’ in 2024 Polls
Members of Parliament from Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Monday marched from Makar Dwar in Parliament to the Election Commission’s office at Nirvachan Sadan, Delhi, to protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar and alleged voter fraud in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The march, which began at 11:30 a.m. and passed through Transport Bhawan, went ahead despite Delhi Police stating no permission had been sought for the rally.
Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh accused Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of filling out “fake forms” in one room and claimed multiple voter entries under the same EPIC number. He reiterated Rahul Gandhi’s demand for electronic voter list data to identify duplicate votes and questioned why the SIR process — which took two years in 2003 — was being rushed through in a month this time.
