In Bhutan, PM Modi Vows Action Over Delhi Blast: ‘Those Who Plotted This Will Not Be Spared’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday vowed that those behind the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, which claimed 13 lives, would face the full force of justice. Speaking from Thimphu, Bhutan, where he is on a two-day state visit, PM Modi said the government would leave no stone unturned to uncover and punish the conspirators.
“Today, I come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them today,” the Prime Minister said.
He added, “I was in touch with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout last night. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice.”
Rajnath Singh Assures Stern Action
Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh issued a strong warning to those responsible, promising the harshest punishment. Speaking at the Delhi Defence Dialogue organised by the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), Singh said, “I want to firmly assure the nation that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice and will not be spared under any circumstances.”
Delhi Red Fort Blast
Delhi Police have registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act in connection with the explosion near the Red Fort. The capital remains on high alert, with heightened security at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals.
The high-intensity explosion near the historic monument triggered panic and a large-scale security operation. Teams from the Special Cell, Crime Branch, and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) sealed off the site and began investigations.
Two men — Salman and Devender — who previously owned the car involved in the blast, were detained on Monday evening for questioning. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said all possible angles were being probed and that the findings would soon be shared with the public.
