Heavy Rain in Ghaziabad Sparks Red Alert; Noida Under Orange Warning

Delhi’s neighboring city Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh woke up to heavy rainfall on Sunday, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for the area and an orange alert for nearby Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida).

Delhi, meanwhile, was not under any weather warning, according to the IMD’s nowcast on Sunday morning. The red alert in Ghaziabad was valid until 11 a.m.

The region has experienced intermittent heavy rain in recent days, bringing relatively cooler and pleasant conditions for this time of year. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5°C on Sunday, two degrees below the season’s average.

The IMD forecast generally cloudy skies with moderate rainfall for Delhi, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 32°C. Relative humidity stood at 81% at 8:30 a.m., according to PTI.
